With Doc-O-Matic you can include external files such as HTML files and graphic files in the output. In HTML the content of included files is shown in one of your topics. In PDF the graphic file is printed on one full page without heading, headers and footers. In HTML you may include one or more pages of external files in your topic. For example, add Word documents or Visio diagram saved as HTML files to your documentation. This feature is only available for HTML and PDF output.
To use a file as external source
In the hierarchy select the topic in which you want to include your HTML file.
In the External Topics/HTML Files box in the Topic Properties enter your HTML file without path.
A dialog box asks, if you want to add the path to your topic include paths.
Click Yes, to proceed. The topic include path appears in the Project Manager.
To include a graphic file in your PDF output
In the hierarchy select the topic in which you want to print your graphic file.
In the External Topics/PDF Files box, in the Topic Properties, enter your graphic file without path. You can use graphics saved as *.jpg, *.gif, *.bmp and *.png.
A dialog box asks, if you want to add the path to your topic include paths.
Click Yes, to proceed. The topic include path appears in the Project Manager.
To open the added file
In the hierarchy select the corresponding topic, and then select Open External Topicon the shortcut menu.
