Customizing Navigation Information

Navigation information appears in the respective topic as section. All listed navigation sections are subsections of the Navigation section. In addition, navigation information appears on a sub-page of the topic page accessible by links in the Help systems. You can include whatever information is appropriate for each configuration.

  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & Format > Sections.
  4. Click the Symbol Topics tab.
  5. Clear the Navigation check box.
  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & Format > Sections > Navigation Links > Format.
  4. Clear the Display links below the topic title check box.
  5. Select Files & Format > Sections.
  6. Click the Symbol Topics tab.
  7. Clear the check box next to the Topic Links type section. The section is called Links in a default project and See Also in a Visual Studio template project.
  8. Now all links to navigation pages are removed and no navigation information appears in the output.
  9. In addition, links to other sections, which may appear on separate pages (Additional Information, See Also List and Body Source Code type Sections), are omitted.
  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & Format > Sections > Navigation Sections, and then click Update.
  4. Clear the corresponding Navigation section check box.
    Note: Contents Entries (for example Construction) you have created are listed on this page and can be omitted.
    Note: Members of a class are listed in the member section and in their subcategory (for example Data Members or Fields).
  5. To omit one of them, either remove the member section or all subcategories.
  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & Format > Sections > Navigation Links, and then click Update.
  4. Do one of the following:
  5. Click the Title tab, to omit links below the title.
  6. Click the Text tab, to omit links in the Links (See Also) section.
  7. Clear the corresponding link check box, to omit the page.
    Note: All Contents Entries in your project are listed on this page.
  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & Format > Sections, and then click the Symbols Topic tab.
  4. Clear the Class Hierarchy (Inheritance Hierarchy in Visual Studio templates) check box.
  5. Select Files & Format > Sections > Navigation Links, and then click Update.
  6. Do one of the following:
  7. Click the Title tab, and then clear the Class Hierarchy (Inheritance Hierarchy in Visual Studio templates) check box.
  8. Click the Text tab, and then clear the Class Hierarchy (Inheritance Hierarchy in Visual Studio templates) check box.
  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & Format > Sections > Navigation Sections > Legends, and then clear the Legend check boxes.
  4. Select Files & Format > Sections > Navigation Links, and then click the Other Pages tab.
  5. Clear the Navigation Legend check box.
  6. Select Files & Format > Sections > Navigation Sections.
  7. Clear the Legend check box.
