Terms
native language source file A file of a programming language that Doc-O-Matic parses and understands natively. Doc-O-Matic detects and sorts symbols in these files. For example Delphi, C, C++, C#, VB.NET, Java, PHP and ASPX files are native language source files.
parse To break source code into smaller chunks so that source code symbols can be sorted and comments extracted.
.DTX file (.dtx file) A native file that Doc-O-Matic uses to store comments and topic text. DTX files are also called Topic Files. They are one type of documentation files.
documentation file Files that Doc-O-Matic uses to store comments and topic text.
documentation snippet Files that Doc-O-Matic uses to store text snippets that can be reused in your documentation. Snippets are displayed in the Templates, Snippets & Special Topics folder in the Content Manager.
