Multi-line Cells Example

To draw tables with cells that contain more than a single line of text, indent the second line more than the first line. This example shows a table with 3 columns and 2 rows. The subsequent lines of a cell are indented one space more than the first line of the cell.

<xtable> DC 1 Line 1 DC 2 Line 1 DC 3 Line 1 DC 1 Line 2 DC 2 Line 2 DC 3 Line 2 DC 1 Line 3 DC 2 Line 3 DC 3 Line 3 DC 1 Line 4 DC 2 Line 4 DC 2 Line 5 DC 4 Line 1 DC 5 Line 1 DC 6 Line 1 DC 4 Line 2 DC 5 Line 2 DC 6 Line 2 DC 4 Line 3 DC 6 Line 3 DC 4 Line 4 DC 6 Line 4 DC 4 Line 5 DC 6 Line 5 </xtable>

Note that empty lines are ignored. If you use empty lines, you can improve the readability of tables. Depending on the output format the table appears as follows:

DC 1 Line 1 DC 1 Line 2 DC 1 Line 3 DC 1 Line 4
DC 2 Line 1 DC 2 Line 2 DC 2 Line 3 DC 2 Line 4 DC 2 Line 5
DC 3 Line 1 DC 3 Line 2 DC 3 Line 3
DC 4 Line 1 DC 4 Line 2 DC 4 Line 3 DC 4 Line 4 DC 4 Line 5
DC 5 Line 1 DC 5 Line 2
DC 6 Line 1 DC 6 Line 2 DC 6 Line 3 DC 6 Line 4 DC 6 Line 5
