HTML Help Systems
Doc-O-Matic automatically generates content for the <head> tag of HTML files including a meta tag entry for the Western (ISO-8859-1) character set. You can omit or replace both the <head> content and the meta tag entry on the Files & Format > Output Options > HTML File Header and the Files & Format > Output Options > Encodingpage.
You can create Unicode encoded files. Make sure the Write UTF-8 byte order marker check box on the Files & Format > Output Options > Encoding page is selected when you generate Help 2.
Doc-O-Matic automatically generates Help project files to build HTML Help files. You can replace the project file for HTML Help 1.x with a customized HTML Help project file on the Files & Format > HTML Help > Help Project page.
The generated HTML Help file can be customized on the Files & Format > HTML Help > Project Options page.
You can replace the JavaScript template file and the jQuery version used to generate HTML files on the Files & Format > Files & Folders > Templates page.
You add additional rules to the cascading style sheets used to generate HTML files on the Files & Format > Layout > Formatting > Additional Style Sheet page.
You can integrate your Web Help into your own website by adding a placeholder in your website and adding the layout template on the Files & Format > Files & Folders > Templates page.
You can use a custom full text search solution for Web Help and add it on the Files & Format > Files & Folders > Templates page.
You can fix the header in HTML on the Files & Format > Layoutpage.
To create only one HTML file (for example a read me), you can embed used JavaScript functions and styles into the created HTML file on the Files & Format > Output Options page.
Doc-O-Matic creates alias and map files and support files for dual Help systems. On the Files & Format > HTML Help > HTML Help API page, you can create a CHI file for the integration of the online Help into the Microsoft Developer Studio. A tool (c) by Codejock is included in the Doc-O-Matic installation that prepares your files for the integration into MSDN.
To change the location where HTML Help windows appear on the screen, set the windows position on the Files & Format > HTML Help > Project Options page.
You can plug your Help 2 into namespaces of IDE Help systems such as Visual Studio and RAD Studio using different tools on the Files & Format > Help 2 > Registration page.
