Topic Hierarchy

You can structure your documentation by using the group, topicorder and contentsentry tags in your source code or in external documentation files.

  1. Doc-O-Matic provides "Topic groups". Topic groups consist of root topic and a collection of topics that belong to that root.
  2. To assign a topic to a group, type the group tag followed by the topic to which you want to assign your topic.
Note: You can assign topics with subtopics to topic groups so that you can easily create hierarchies (even recursive ones).
  1. Another way to structure your documentation is the use of Contents Entries. Contents Entries are grouping levels without text. In the output they appear only in the table of contents or as heading in PDF and RTF documents.
  2. To create a Contents Entries type the contentsentry tag in your topics.

On navigation pages Contents Entries are used as additional category to sort symbols. For example if you group the constructors of a class using a Contents Entry named Construction the members of this class are sorted using the automatically generated categories (members, functions and so on) but the constructors appear in the category Construction.
