How does team development work?

Doc-O-Matic has several ways for you to enhance team development of your documentation.

  1. To write Help or source code documentation in a team, ensure that each team member uses the same template.
  2. To save your own settings as template, do the following:
    • On the Project tab, in the Tools group, click More and then click Save as Template Project.
    • Your can select your template in the New Project dialog.
  1. Create a separate projects for each team member using your template project.
  2. Create a separate .DTX file for each team member.
  3. Create a link database for each project and add the link databases to all projects.
  4. Run all projects on the same network so that link databases are always accurate.
  5. To build the online Help, create one joint Doc-O-Matic project.
  6. Add all .DTX files to this project using the Add Folder command so that Doc-O-Matic adds all topic files in the directory to the project each time it parses the project.
  7. Import topic hierarchies of all projects and configurations to the joint project by using the Import Project Tool.

  2. Use topic templates in the Editor for source comments, to ensure a consistent look.
  3. Create a link database for each project and add the link databases to all projects.
  4. Run all projects on the same network so that link databases are always accurate.
  5. To build the source documentation, create one joint Doc-O-Matic project.
  6. Add all source files to this project using the Add Folder command so that Doc-O-Matic adds all source files in the directory to the project each time it parses the project.
  7. To divide the joint project into several parts, create a module for each developer and add source file to this module.
  8. Import topic hierarchies of all projects and configurations to the joint project by using the Import Project Tool.
