Class Hierarchy View

Class Hierarchy view shows all classes in your project in a graphical hierarchy. You can completely customize the look and feel of your class hierarchy and include it in your output.

In the Active menu all available class hierarchies for your project are listed. There is a class hierarchy for the whole project and one for each module. Class Hierarchy view consists of the following parts:

Toolbar buttons and shortcut menu
Class hierarchy properties

To insert a global class hierarchy into your documentation

On the View tab, click Class Hierarchy.
In the Active menu, select the class hierarchy you want to edit. There are class hierarchies for your whole project and for each module in your project.
Click Build , to generate the class hierarchy graphics.
You can find them in the graphics subdirectory in your Doc-O-Matic directory.
On the View tab, click Content Manager.
In the hierarchy select the topic in which you want to include your class hierarchy.
In the Topic Editor, click Image .
In the graphics folder select the class hierarchy you want to show.
Click Ok.

Class Hierarchy Tools and Commands

The following table describes ribbon buttons, commands and shortcuts:

		Active Class Hierarchy		Shows all available class hierarchies in your project.
Layout		Layout		Draws the graph according to the property settings. All manual changes are undone.
Layout		Undo Move	CTRL+Z	Undoes the last operation.
Layout		Redo Move	SHIFT+CTRL+Z	Undoes the last undo.
Tools		Select		Lets you select nodes and drag them to rearrange the layout.
Tools		Pan		Lets you drag the graph using the mouse without changing the nodes positions.
Tools		Zoom Window		Switches to zoom mode which allows you to zoom an individual, rectangular area using the mouse.
Tools		Zoom In		Zoom in by 25%.
Tools		Zoom Out		Zoom out by 25%.
Tools		Zoom Fit		Sets the zoom so that the hierarchy fits in the current window.
Tools		Open Source	ENTER	Opens the source file.
Show		Show Info		Shows information such as name, filename and type of all classes as hints.
Show		Show Properties		Shows the layout property inspector.
Show		External Classes		When this option is enabled, the class information in project databases is used to display class information on external classes.
Excluded Classes		Exclude Selected Classes		Exclude the selected class or classes from your class hierarchy.
Excluded Classes		Manage Excluded Classes		Opens the Excluded from Class Hierarchy dialog box. It shows all excluded classes and you can show excluded classes again.
