Extracting Comments

Adding generic source files to your project, you need to determine what parts of your source file you want to use in your documentation.

There are several ways to use comments in generic source files in Doc-O-Matic. You can:

  • Use all comments in your file. (See example: Use all comments).
  • Use only comments that follow a topic ID and are not divided by empty lines or source lines. (See example: Use connected comments only).
  • Use all comment and all source lines. (See example: Use everything in the file).
  • Use all source lines to a certain line and below that line only comments. (See example: Use comments and source until line).

You can determine these settings in the Edit Generic Source dialog box on the Generic Source Files Settings page.
