Headers and Footers

The HTML Help systems and the printable documentation you can insert headers and footers that you can format separately. Headers and footers appear on each page except the welcome (HTML Help) and title page (PDF, RTF).

  • There are several ways to change the appearance of headers and footers. Using the options on the Files & Format > Layout > Page Footer/Page Header pages you can:
    1. Show any text in header and footer areas. Doc-O-Matic uses the PROJECTTITLE variable to show the project title of the project in the header of the page by default.
    2. Show linked images to open pop-up windows. Linked images appear in front of the project information.
    3. Show a path to the current topic. The path appears in headers in the WebHelp configuration by default.
    4. Show a dynamic path that lets users browse for topics on the same level. In the default setting this feature is turned on.
    5. Show a feedback link. The link can be displayed in the header or footer area or in the topic title link list. You can customize the displayed text, used functionality and used variables for the link. On the Files & Format > Layout > Feedback Variables page you can define variables for the feedback link.
